gA Vault (Will Custody Service) FAQ

Can I keep non-getArrange Wills (i.e. Wills written by other companies)?

Yes.

Where is my Will physically kept?

We store our Wills securely in Certis CISCO safe deposit boxes.

Can I store other documents with my Will?

We only accept the safekeeping of Wills and documents directly related to the Will, such as an asset list, medical records to prove testamentary capacity, or a letter of wishes. As storage is limited, additional charges will apply if you wish to store other documents.

Is my Will stored digitally?

All Wills are securely stored in physical form within Certis CISCO safe deposit boxes. A digital copy is also kept for contingency purposes. You can access and view the Will stored with us via the gA-Vault function (URL: https://getarrange.com/user/vault/).

Can my loved ones retrieve my Will directly from Certis CISCO?

No, your Will is stored under our company’s corporate account.

Who can retrieve my Will?

You must appoint authorised recipients when depositing your Will with us. Priority will be given to these authorised recipients, as they are the individuals you have designated to retrieve your Will.

How do I change my authorised recipient(s)?

You can change your authorised recipient(s) via your user account under the function gA-Vault. (URL: https://getarrange.com/user/vault/)

Can my authorised recipient(s) retrieve my Will while I am still alive?

No, only you or your dedicated Certified Estate Planner (with your authorisation) may retrieve your Will while you are alive. Your authorised recipient(s) can only retrieve your Will after your demise.

Does getArrange inform my authorised recipient(s) when I deposit or retrieve my Will?

As some clients prefer privacy, we do not notify your authorised recipient(s) about the deposit or retrieval of your Will. However, we encourage you to inform your authorised recipients that your Will is stored with getArrange, so they know who to contact upon your demise.

What if I update my Will?

A newly written Will revokes the previous one. If you deposit a new Will with us, we will automatically destroy the previous Will. You can arrange to deposit a new Will via the gA-Vault function (URL: https://getarrange.com/user/vault/) or through your dedicated Certified Estate Planner. Additional charges will apply if you are depositing more than once per calendar year.

What happens if I have made a new Will but did not deposit it?

Most Wills, including those drafted through getArrange, contain a revocation clause, which revokes any previous Wills. This means that if you have made a new Will (even if it is not deposited with us), it will supersede your previous Will (in this case, the one deposited with us). It is important to ensure that your most recent Will is always on file. If the revoked Will was deposited with us, you should deposit the updated Will with us to minimise any confusion.

How will getArrange be notified of my demise?

We recommend informing your authorised recipients that your Will is deposited with getArrange. You will also be issued a Will Deposit Card with information on how to retrieve your Will upon your demise. In the event of your demise, loved ones often check your wallet first. Keeping your getArrange Will deposit card in your wallet will provide notification details for contacting us.

What if I lose my Will deposit card?

You can contact us at info@getarrange.com to request a replacement card, which will be mailed to you. Please note that charges will apply.

Do I need the Will deposit card to retrieve my Will?

No, the Will deposit card is simply to inform your loved ones to contact us when going through your belongings after your demise. It is not required nor used as proof of identity for retrieving your Will.

How is my Will retrieved upon my demise?

Your next-of-kin, authorised recipients, or a lawyer representing your estate can request the Will through our Will deposit website (URL: https://getarrange.com/vault).

We will need the following documents for verification:

  • The deceased’s death certificate
  • The requestor’s ID/Passport
  • Proof of relationship (for non-authorised recipients) and/or Lawyer Practising Certificate

We may require additional documents if further checks are necessary. Upon verification, all authorised recipients will be notified of the retrieval request. Priority will be given to the first available authorised recipient, and the Will will be delivered within 5 working days. All authorised recipients will be informed of which recipient has retrieved the Will.

What if my authorised recipients cannot be reached after my demise?

If your authorised recipients cannot be contacted or are unable to retrieve your Will, we will still notify them via email. In such cases, the physical Will will be passed to the requestor, who would be your next of kin or a legally appointed representative, such as a lawyer, to manage the retrieval process.
