What if my Executors screw up or embezzle my assets?

The executor is responsible to apply for Grant of Probate upon your death, locate your assets, pay off your debts, taxes, funeral arrangements and distribute the remaining assets to your beneficiaries. He/she will hold and manage your assets during this period before distributing. He/she is not to misuse your estate for his own personal gain. There is no specific person tasked specifically to check on the executor periodically, rather if there are discrepancies, your beneficiaries or their representatives should consider having a chat with the executor before considering settling the dispute in court.
