Should I put security / sensitive information such as passwords in my Will?

In Singapore, as part of the probate process (after the Testator dies), the Will has to be submitted to Court. While the Will is not "open to the public" for viewing, for the right reasons, relevant personnel can apply to Court request to see it (e.g. beneficiaries who are disputing the distribution of the assets).

Hence, you should try to avoid putting highly sensitive information / credentials which might compromise the related accounts (e.g. password, key code, seed phrase, wallet address, private keys) in your Will. You can write in the Will where you keep these sensitive information / credentials and how to retrieve them. This is particularly important especially for cryptocurrency where the traceability is not as easy as compared to other forms of currency.
