Sell-Off / Terminate

You can specify when to sell off an asset or when it will mature and how much cash it will payout. This is useful for adding assets that has a maturity payout or to sell off certain assets to provide liquidity at a later age.

When you click to expand an asset's detail, you will see a Sell-Off / Terminate section which has 2 values you can edit: Holding Period and Payout.

Purpose Default value when left empty
Holding Period (years)

Number of years to hold this asset before it is sold (or terminated, or has matured).

[ 100 yrs ] - The asset will not be sold off within the next 100 years and hence does not affect the projections within the next 100 years.

Payout ($)

The amount of cash payout when this asset is sold (or terminated, or has matured) at the end of the Holding Period.

This amount will be added to cash flow and affects the accumulated Cash Savings.

auto ] - The payout amount will be the asset value projected over time at the capital growth rate, taking into account any transactions from Linked Finances that could add or reduce the asset value.

If you have provided a value, this value will be paid out instead of the asset's projected value.

If there is any loan connected to the asset via the Loan toggle, the Payout amount will be reduced by the amount of its outstanding loan at the end of the Holding Period since the tool will automatically redeem any outstanding loan when the asset is sold.
