How to key in to include all accounts from a particular bank

Warning: Using broad categories is generally not recommended as they can have serious downsides—they may still be ambiguous, overlap with other categories or listed assets, and is often more prone to mistakes. Listing each assets individually is still the preferred approach as it adds clarity, makes future updates easier, and helps prevent unintentional errors.

If you are allocating different accounts within the same bank to different beneficiaries (e.g., a fixed deposit account for the Son, three specific accounts for the Daughter, a joint bank account for the Mum, and all other accounts for the Wife), you should be listing down each account individually to prevent any confusion. Describing in broad category can be ambiguous, and may overlap, leading to misunderstandings.

Even for insurance nominations, you are require to list each individual policy number instead of using a broad statement like "all policies from insurer XYZ".

See Why List Down Assets Individually on the Platform?

Please read the following important points:

  • By default, you can add in the various accounts individually in separate asset tabs. This is easier to update over the years as they appear as separate items in the Asset List. They can also be imported as separate assets into the Financial Tools for better analysis (for CEP Pro plan).
  • Only assets that are selected with "I give this asset to" or has "Additional Instructions" will be printed in the Will. Otherwise, the assets will only appear in the Asset List that is not part of the Will but can be used as reference to fill in the Schedule of Assets form.
  • For any assets that are not specifically allocated to anyone or are acquire in the future, they will be distributed as per your residual assets configured under the " Allocate Assets" page.

To include all bank accounts with a particular bank under a single asset tab, you can click to add an asset under "Bank Account" and key in the following:

Bank name & Account type:
All types of bank accounts with {Bank name}

Account number:
including, but not limited to, {List of all known account numbers separated by commas}

Estimated market value:

{total value of all included accounts}

Allocate asset:

Select the intended beneficiaries

Example

Here's an example to add all types of bank accounts with DBS under a single asset tab, and to allocate it to the Wife:

The above assumes that you wish to allocate ALL account numbers with that bank to the same beneficiary.

If you wish to allocate a particular account to a different beneficiary, that account should be added in a separate asset tab so it can be allocated to a different beneficiary. The account number should then be specifically excluded from list of account numbers.

If you have allocated certain account numbers from that bank differently from all the other accounts with that bank, please use the following configuration instead:

Bank name & Account Type:
All types of bank accounts with {Bank name}

Account Number:
including, but not limited to, {List of all known account numbers separated by commas} , except for {List of excluded account numbers separated by commas}

Estimated market value:

{total value of all included accounts}

Allocate asset:

Select the intended beneficiaries

Example

Here's the same example but with 2 of the DBS accounts allocated to different people:

The other 2 DBS accounts are added in separate asset tab and allocated differently.
