How do I include alias names that are also listed on a person’s identification card?

This article applies to alias names that appear in a person’s official identification documents, such as the Singapore NRIC. Do not enter unofficial, self-given names that do not appear in the identification documents in the system under the ‘Full Name’ field. Instead, you may list them under Select Clauses >> Other Instructions, as follows:

I am also known to my friends/loved ones by the unofficial alias name, {Alias Name}.

OR

My {Relationship}, {Name}, {Identification Number/details}, is also known to me by the unofficial alias name, {Alias Name}.

Example

The alias name refers to an alternate or additional name of the person that is legally recognised and appears on their identification card (e.g. Singapore NRIC). Including this can help the Executor(s) easily identify the individual. More importantly, the person's identification number should also be included to ensure accurate identification.

To include an alias, you can enter it in the ‘Full Name’ field using the following format:

Full Name:

{FullName} (Alias: {Alias Name})

Optional to key in Hanyu Pinyin, Alias and Married name of the NRIC

For Singapore NRIC, you should key in the full name as per the NRIC which includes any punctuation such as the comma (,), hyphen (-), and slash (/). As long as the NRIC number and full name is accurate, it is optional to include the Hanyu Pinyin, Alias and Married name as these are also not required in doing CPF nomination.
