Can I use the person’s Chinese name in the platform?
While the system does allow you to enter Mandarin characters, for clarity, you should use the person’s English name, along with the relevant identification number, such as the NRIC or passport number. This will help prevent any ambiguity about who the testator is referring to, especially in the case of a friend, where multiple individuals with the same name might claim to be the beneficiary.
If the person is a Chinese national and does not have an English name, you should enter the name in Chinese (instead of an English name that does not appear in their identification documents), along with the foreign ID or passport number. The Will will still be valid if the name is in Chinese rather than English.
